Storefront and account region
Shadowrocket isn’t available in the mainland China storefront. The apps shown in the App Store depend on the country or region associated with the Apple ID used for purchases—not the language of your device interface. Check your account region before trying different search terms. A browser may show a product page for another region, but that doesn’t mean your account can make purchases there.
The App Store button on this page links to Shadowrocket’s US storefront listing. When opened, the link may hand off to the App Store. The price, purchase availability, and currency shown on your device are determined by the App Store. A region code in a web address doesn’t mean your account’s region has changed.
How to check your country or region
- Open Settings on your device, then tap your Apple ID account at the top.
- Tap Media & Purchases, then View Account. Complete any account verification requested by the system.
- Tap Country/Region to check your current storefront. To change it, start the process provided there.
Labels and menu locations may vary slightly across system versions; follow what appears on your device. Your balance, active subscriptions, payment method, and other account details may affect a region change. Apple’s process determines whether your account is eligible. These steps point you to the relevant settings but can’t guarantee that a change will be approved. Don’t switch regions repeatedly without understanding the account implications.
If you’re already signed in to an Apple ID on your device, also check that the App Store is using the account that originally purchased the app. The account at the top of Settings and the account used for Media & Purchases may differ, so verify each separately. When restoring a purchase, it’s especially important to identify the account that holds the purchase record. Then continue with app verification or purchase restoration.
VERIFY / THREE CHECKS
Verify the app: check three details
Shadowrocket is sometimes referred to by a Chinese nickname, but nicknames, similar names, or similar-looking icons are not enough to verify an app before purchase. Check the App Store product page and confirm the developer name, official icon, and app ID together. If only the name matches, verify the other two details as well.
Shadowrocket
Shadow Launch Technology Limited
ID 932747118
Developer name: check the exact wording
The official developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Check the full name in the developer or provider section of the product page. Don’t rely on the beginning of the name or treat search-result descriptions as the developer field. If you’ve opened a different app with the same or a similar name, go back and verify the product page—even if its description mentions similar features.
Official icon: compare it with the image on this page
The official icon is a blue-and-purple outlined rocket on a white background, and the image shown here is that same official icon. Compare the overall design and colors, not just whether it contains a rocket. The icon can help identify the app, but it doesn’t replace checking the developer and app ID. A different crop in search results doesn’t by itself mean the app is a different product.
App ID: check the product page URL
Shadowrocket’s app ID is 932747118, and the App Store link on this page ends in id932747118. This number identifies the specific product; it isn’t your device’s personal account identifier. Check the full product URL rather than relying only on the page title or link text.
Once all three details match, review the current price, compatibility, app description, and purchase button. If anything doesn’t match, stop and reopen the listing from the App Store link on this page. Verification confirms the app’s identity; payment eligibility, device requirements, and your connection setup need to be checked separately in the sections below.
IPHONE / FIRST OPEN
Get started on iPhone
On iPhone, verify your storefront and the three app details before purchasing and installing through the App Store. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements. Check compatibility on the product page using your current device; don’t assume your device qualifies just because another device can install the app or an older article lists different requirements.
Before buying, check which account is signed in to the App Store. At checkout, confirm the amount and authenticate as prompted. If you’ve purchased the app before, check your account’s purchased items first; don’t pay again just because a search result temporarily shows a price. A mismatch between the account you’re using and the account that holds the purchase is one of the first things to investigate.
Installing the app doesn’t configure your connection details
After opening the app for the first time, start with Home. The connection status, Global Routing, and SERVER list each have different things to check. If you haven’t added your own server or subscription details yet, an empty or incomplete list doesn’t mean the purchase failed. Buying the app and setting up connection details are separate steps.
Before adding details you already have, check the address, protocol, and required fields. Don’t overwrite your current configuration unless you understand what it contains. For step-by-step instructions, see the setup tutorial and work through importing, choosing a route, connecting, and verifying the result.
Understanding the system prompt to add a VPN configuration
When you start a connection, the system may ask permission to add a VPN configuration and require your device passcode or another system verification method. This authorizes the system to manage a network connection; it isn’t a payment or a second app purchase. First make sure the request comes from the verified Shadowrocket app, then respond according to your needs.
If you tapped Don’t Allow by mistake, return to the app, check the connection status and VPN configuration in Settings, then try connecting again. Don’t confuse a system authorization issue with a server connection failure. The former involves device permissions and configuration; the latter may involve your existing server details, network conditions, or routing settings.
IPAD / PURCHASE SCOPE
iPad installation and compatibility
After purchasing Shadowrocket with an Apple ID, you can get it from the App Store on eligible iPhone and iPad devices. If you bought it on iPhone, first check that the App Store on your iPad is using the same purchase account, then look for the app under Purchased. Refer to the App Store listing for purchase availability, device compatibility, and system requirements.
If the iPad product page shows a price, don’t assume from the button alone that your original purchase is no longer valid. Check the current store account, purchased items, and original purchase record, then confirm you’re viewing the correct Shadowrocket listing. Verify the account and app identity before deciding whether the prompt relates to a purchase record or to device or storefront eligibility.
Different screen layout, same things to check
The iPad’s wider screen may place lists and details differently from iPhone, especially in landscape orientation. Use interface labels such as Home, Config, and Settings to find features rather than expecting everything to appear in the same screen position. Before connecting, check the selected server, current configuration, and Global Routing.
Being able to redownload the app doesn’t mean your personal configuration will reappear automatically. If you plan to use your existing details on two devices, check the import on each one and confirm that all fields are present and the right configuration is selected. A working connection on one device doesn’t prove that another has the same permissions, network conditions, or configuration.
Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing also includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. These devices are also available through the App Store. Compatibility with your device, universal purchase availability, and system requirements are determined by the App Store listing. Don’t assume that purchase details for iPhone and iPad apply to every other device.
Before using another Apple device, review its compatibility and purchase information, then follow the App Store flow shown for that device. The first-launch and permissions steps in this guide are mainly for iPhone and iPad; don’t infer how another device works from the layout on a touchscreen.
RESTORE / PURCHASE RECORD
New device or reinstall: find your original purchase
After getting a new device or reinstalling, use the Apple ID that made the original purchase to redownload Shadowrocket from App Store purchases. If it’s available in your storefront, you won’t have to pay again for the same purchase. This restores your eligibility to get the app; it doesn’t automatically restore your servers, subscriptions, or configuration. Handle these as separate steps.
Redownload from purchased items
- Open the App Store on your new device, go to your account page, and confirm you’re signed in with the account that made the original purchase.
- Open Purchased and look for Shadowrocket. If the system groups purchases by app, open the relevant app list and search there.
- Verify the developer and app identity, then use the redownload option in the list and follow the system prompts to install.
- Open the app, restore your own subscription, server details, or configuration backup, and check any required permissions again.
If you can’t find the app in the list, first check whether you made the purchase with another account you use. Then check whether the purchase is hidden, whether the product is still available in your storefront, and whether your device meets the requirements. Hidden purchases may be managed somewhere other than the regular Purchased list; check the options on your current App Store account page.
If the product page shows a price again, pause before paying and look into the original purchase record first. A payment failure, an account verification request, and a missing purchase record are different issues; repeatedly tapping Buy won’t resolve an account mismatch. For charges, check your App Store purchase history and the order status shown by the system.
Restore connection details and personal settings
After reinstalling, check whether the app already contains a valid configuration before importing a backup, so you don’t overwrite anything you want to keep. If you have your own subscription or server details, import them again and check the protocol, address, required credentials, and routing method. Check the details themselves to confirm that a subscription is active and a server is still available; a purchase record can’t confirm either.
If your old device still works, organize your configuration and the information you’ll need to restore it before reinstalling. Save it using the options the app provides. Keep personal credentials secure; don’t share a full subscription URL or password to troubleshoot an App Store purchase. After restoring your configuration, test the connection and confirm that it behaves as expected.
For Family Sharing eligibility, check the App Store listing and Apple’s current account rules. Availability, eligible family members, and whether an app can be downloaded on a particular device depend on the listing and system prompts. Restoring your own purchase doesn’t mean every family member has the same access.
PRICE / ONE-TIME PURCHASE
Price, one-time purchase, and connection details
Shadowrocket is a one-time purchase, with a reference price of $2.99 in the US storefront. Other storefronts show local currency; the final amount appears on the App Store purchase confirmation screen. The app itself isn’t a monthly subscription. Check both the currency and product name rather than comparing the amount alone.
A one-time purchase describes how you buy the app. Updates are handled through the App Store; check your device’s app update settings or the store listing for available updates. Follow your device’s prompts to see whether you need to confirm an update and whether it’s available to you. This guide doesn’t list version numbers or release dates, so static information isn’t mistaken for a live store record.
Know these two things before you buy
First, check app availability: can your App Store account view the product, does your device meet the compatibility requirements, and is the amount on the purchase confirmation screen correct? Second, check your connection details: do you already have your own subscription or server information, and do you know the protocol and required fields? Completing the first step doesn’t replace preparing the second.
If you already have connection details, use the official guide after purchase to import them, select a configuration, and verify the connection. If you haven’t organized your details yet, understand the difference between the client app and the connection service before deciding what to do next. This site explains how to add your details to the app and check its settings; buying the app doesn’t provide connection access.
After purchase, find help by issue
If the store won’t open or you can’t find the app, return to the account-region checks on this page. If a purchase is missing, see the purchase restoration section. If the app opens but won’t connect, use the setup tutorial to check your details and permissions. For Global Routing, rule order, and ongoing maintenance, read the official guide from beginner to advanced so you don’t mistake a routing issue for a purchase problem.
PURCHASE / QUICK ANSWERS
Shadowrocket download and purchase FAQs
First distinguish storefront availability, device compatibility, purchase records, and in-app configuration. Then address the relevant prompt.
Why can’t I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?
Shadowrocket isn’t available in the mainland China storefront. The country or region associated with your Apple ID determines which apps appear in the store. Check it under Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. Opening the product page in a browser doesn’t mean it’s available for purchase in your account’s storefront. Apple’s account requirements determine whether you can change regions.
The product page opens, but the download won’t complete. What should I check first?
Check your current App Store account region, device compatibility, payment status, and available storage, then review any system messages. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements. If you’ve purchased the app before, look for it in your account’s purchased items first. A download error alone doesn’t tell you whether you need to buy it again.
Do I have to pay again after getting a new device or reinstalling?
Using the Apple ID that made the original purchase, find Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased. If it’s available in your storefront, you can download it again without paying for the same purchase twice. App purchase records are separate from your personal configuration, so after reinstalling you’ll still need to restore your own subscription, server details, or configuration backup.
Can I use Shadowrocket on my iPad if I bought it on my iPhone?
After purchasing with the same Apple ID, you can redownload Shadowrocket from App Store purchases on eligible iPhone and iPad devices. Check the App Store listing for purchase availability and system requirements. The wider iPad screen and landscape layout may display lists and details differently from iPhone; check your personal configuration separately.
Is Shadowrocket listed on the same store page for Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision?
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the listing for compatibility with your device, universal purchase availability, and system requirements. Get the app through the App Store.
The app interface is in English. What should I check first?
Start with the connection status on Home, the SERVER list, and Global Routing. Add Server is for adding your existing server details; Config manages configurations; Settings contains app settings. This guide keeps the interface labels in English. Follow the tutorial step by step—there’s no need to buy the app again because of the interface language.
